I used to think...
I used to think that teaching and learning with or without technology involved memorization for testing, which was only good for short-term memory. ePortfolios can be used as a key to lifelong learning, evaluating learning, assessing programs, and making thinking visible. A reflective routine that places and guides the effective use of educational portfolios is identified as a purposeful compilation of artifacts that display or showcase the learning experiences of the learner’s portfolio.
There is importance in the assessment of technology in learning because it assists with current uses of teaching and learning technology and aids educators moving forward as they integrate newer technology tools and resources in education. It will enable educators to focus on and engage with their learners in unique ways, with the learning environment engaging and interactive. ePortfolios display an incremental compilation of learning experiences and efforts by the learner over time. They are also designed to have the portfolio owner reflect on the artifacts chosen to display on their portfolio, which also assists the learner in understanding if and how their thinking on the subject matter and other topics shifts over time, and it can then be viewed through the lens of the ePortfolio. One such example is this exercise I used to think…, now I think….
