Purpose Statement - ETEC-579

Introduction
The artifact below is a purpose statement for my technology grant proposal project in the implementation of educational technology programs course. For this project, we were completing a part of our overall assigned project. This was the purpose statement to include in the remainder of our grant proposal that we were still working on. My grant proposal addresses pillar four specifically. Our large college district was recently sued because the content and information that was published, used, and posted online to public-facing WWW, as well as the intranet where students and faculty engage in the learning processes, were not online ADA compliant. So, hiring IT specialists in online ADA compliance to assist users with their online content to make it ADA compliant in line with the legal resolution handed down to our district with time constraints in making this happen, will help teachers, staff, and all users within the district learn the software and how to make content ADA accessible.

Reflection
This assignment was a bit difficult, and I had to do several retakes to arrive at the above final artifact for my overall project. Following the guidelines to complete our purpose statement was challenging to follow. Still, after a few revisions of the statement and receiving peer reviewers' feedback, I completed this purpose statement for my project.
Our district will have continued obstacles and challenges in its efforts to comply with online accessibility standards, policies, and procedures moving forward. Still, we are attempting to act upon this issue because the district (and many big-name universities and colleges throughout the USA as well) is required to respond in a timely manner based on a legal resolution of not formerly complying with ADA laws regarding making all online information and content ADA compliant. I anticipate pushback from faculty, staff, and others alike mainly because (like many) our people don't like/do change. This time, there is NO option. Comply, or you don't teach in our district. If our district does not comply, we risk losing federal funding….
