Technology Grant Proposal - ETEC-579

“In order to align your life choices with your values, you will need to inquire about the effects of your actions (and inactions) on yourself and others. Although we are always stumbling upon new knowledge that shifts our choices and life direction, bringing conscious inquiry to life means that we continually ask questions that lead us to the information we need to make thoughtful decisions. Asking questions is liberating because we develop great understanding and discover more choices with our new knowledge.”― Zoe Weil

Introduction
Informed Decision-Making creates a safe learning environment where students feel free to engage, interact, and contribute to their individual learning and success. This artifact is a technology grant proposal project I created in my ETEC-579 course. My grant proposal presentation is a multimedia project assigned in the ETEC-579 course as a final project. It will include, among other things, images, graphics, audio, and video, as well as the research into the information needed to compile and present the presentation, including the purpose, who’s, what's, when, where's, and whys of the project that we have chosen. As a result, I will place my presentation in my ePortfolio under the informed decision-making section. It is also essential to be placed in that area because in preparing a grant proposal, your target audience for this type of project is the actual decision makers of the grant to whom we are identifying with, communicating, and defending the request for grant funding to this technology grant proposal at our institutions.

Having an Accessibility Technical Support (ATS) Team, along with online accessibility standards, will ensure all Dallas College users have access to the academic information we need.
Combining the new department of information technology specialists with our Blackboard Learning Management System (LMS), and the software accessibility tool called Blackboard Ally, we will work with faculty, students, and staff to become proficient in making online content and information ADA-compliant in accordance with the requirements set up by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 508, along with the highest WCAG 2.0 A and AA content standards.
Dallas College users will benefit from access to the ATS Team and Blackboard Ally, the software application tool to help faculty check, monitor, and improve their online documents and content within their eCampus courses.
To help our district users acquire and maintain online compliance, Blackboard Ally provides real-time feedback and instructions on making documents and virtual content equally accessible for everyone.
Finally, to assist every user within our academic institution in feeling confident in creating, editing, and maintaining future content, we will offer various accessibility support resources, including individualized or group training, webinars, virtual meetings, and other software tools (such as Microsoft and Adobe applications) remediation.
We are excited to help you to learn more about how our new Accessibility Technical Support team can help you all ensure that your digital content is accessible.

Reflection
Reflecting on this ETEC-579 implementation of educational technology programs course project, it is essential to understand the issues included in the administration and management of multimedia, media, and other technology programs. Also, I learned and became familiar with and better equipped with the planning and preparations involved in implementing and integrating technology apps and products in academic environments. This process was essential to learn as I am working in academia. Currently, I am working with information technology in online accessibility. These technologies, skills, and knowledge will continue to assist me in moving forward in my academic career.
