Strategic Planning for Technology Integration - ETEC-593

I used to think...
I used to think strategic planning for technology integration only involved a little. Still, I have yet to be directly involved in it despite working in educational technology for over ten years now in higher education.

Now I think...
Strategic Planning for technology integration is an essential and involved process when collaborating with academics and preparing to integrate new technologies. There are also many people to include in the process, including educators, administrators, technology specialists, etc. In addition, I learned of the importance of having data such as the STaR chart and the other tools that schools/districts are using these days to assess a school's/district's technology readiness as well as other areas of importance with the faculty and students where technology integration is concerned. Strategic planning involves creating a vision and mission statement and then creating priority goals and action plans with strategy or strategies necessary to achieve and measure those goals. Overall, I have learned that implementing a school/district's strategic plan for technology integration is essential to assist other educators in successfully achieving such imperative remote technology post-two-year pandemic times we have all experienced with teaching and learning with our students. This is a valuable and vital process to learn about and obtain skills to assist with when implementing technology integration in 2022 classrooms and moving forward.
